Officials ask GE to continue PCB dredging

Record Online reports: "A consortium of environmental, business and governmental officials called on the General Electric Co. to "finish what it started" and complete the company's cleanup of deadly PCBs from the Hudson River.

GE is scheduled to begin its sixth and expected final season of PCB dredging in the river north of Albany next month as part of a $2 billion federal Superfund project. Long-running calls for GE to dredge PCB "hot spots" outside that project's boundaries are taking on urgency because the company will dismantle the sprawling facility that treats the contaminated river sediments after dredging ends."
